Dining tables have been one of the most popular projects that I’ve been asked to build over the last couple of months. And this month, I’ve been tackling the Pottery Barn Toscana Dining Table. It’s a client-favorite of mine and brings all the farmhouse vibes to a space.
While it retails on the Pottery Barn website for $1,600, I re-created this look for only $150 in lumber. If you’re looking to re-create the Pottery Barn Toscana Dining Table and save thousands of dollars doing it, then you’ll definitely want to check out how I made it in my post below! So without further ado, let’s start DIYing!

Instructions
Step 1: CUT The legs
Cut the dining table legs to the correct length and cut 30-degree angles on both sides of each leg.

Step 2: CreATE PART 1 OF THE LEG
Place 2, 2 x 6 boards in an “x” formation. Cut out a hole where the 2 x 6 boards cross on one of the boards. Discard the middle piece and use the side pieces of that board to attach it, to the outer corners, of the uncut 2 x 6 board using 2 inch brad nails. It should look similar to the leg below:

Step 3: CREATE PART 2 OF THE LEG
Double the 2 x 6 legs together, by placing the “holes” of the legs together, and attach them using 2 inch drywall nails.

Step 4: Attach Legs to TOP BOARD
Attach the legs from Steps 1-3 to another 2 x 6 board using 2 and/or 2 1/2 inch drywall screws.

Step 5: Join the cross braces
Attach the top and bottom cross braces using 2 1/2 inch pocket hole screws.

Step 6: Attach the Accent Piece
Attach the accent piece to both sides of the “x” braces, on the outside, using 2 inch drywall screws and dowel plugs.

SteP 7: Create the tabletop
Attach the tabletop together using 1 1/4 inch pocket hole screws and connect it to the dining table base using 2 inch drywall screws.

Step 8: Finish it to youR liking
My client was looking for the Toscana Dining Table in the grey wash finish, but you can sand and finish it however you want based on your design choice!

And there you have it, the DIY plans for Toscana Dining Table! I absolutely LOVE the grey wash finish on my client’s dining table as it helps to accent her dark grey floors. Not to mention, the natural light coming in through the windows and sliding door bring out the subtle whitewash changes in the grey wash stain.
