Last year, I created the Folsom Coffee Table for a client of mine, and per a reader’s request, the plans are finally here! This living room set is one of my most popular and asked-for designs and it’s easy to tell why due to its simplistic and modern aesthetic. While the Folsom Coffee Table retails for $800 on the Pottery Barn website, I created an inspired version for less than $200. Check out my free plans below to see how you can make this Pottery Barn-Inspired Coffee Table for less!

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Cut and rip the boards to size
Using your miter and table saw, cut and rip all of your boards to size. Unlike the Folsom End Table, you will need to cut and rip two additional middle panels. You should have 10 panel pieces by the end of this step.

Step 2: Make appropriate miter cuts
Make miter cuts on both ends of the side, top, and bottom panel pieces using your miter saw. The middle 2 panel pieces will not be included in this list.

Step 3: Attach the panels together with dowels
Put the panels together using 3/8th inch dowel pins for the two sides, top, bottom, and middle panels.

Step 4: Attach your middle and side panels
Screw the outside and middle panels together using 2 1/2″ drywall screws. For the screw locations, make sure to use a countersink bit and cover the holes with dowel plugs when attached.

Step 5: Sand and add the finishing touches
Lastly, sand your piece with 80 grit and 120 grit sandpaper and finish with paint or stain and 2 coats of polyurethane.

This Coffee Table is the matching piece you need to finalize your Pottery Barn-inspired Folsom living room set. And in 5 easy steps, you can DIY it and save nearly $600 from retail. Who could say no to DIYing this modern and simplistic Folsom Coffee Table for less?
